Welcome adventurers! We hope your journey to Hyrule isn't filled with too much strife.
Only you, the Moderators and the Spectators will see what you post here. However everyone will have access to it postgame. Feel free to share your thoughts and point of view on the game. Spectators will also ask you questions on occasion, feel free to answer them. There are no guidelines to what you can post in your confessional, though occasionally you will be required to post private individual challenge submissions here. Otherwise, the virtual sky is the limit! Roam the open fields of Hyrule and report to us your findings so that we may be part of your adventure.
To get you started, here are a few questions:
{1} Have you ever played Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild before? If not, do you know the basic story or have you played other Legend of Zelda games before?
{2} Do you have a strategy for how you will play Survivor: Power vs Courage vs Wisdom?
{3} This theme focuses on three core areas, Challenge prowess, Social Prowess, and Strategic Prowess. Why did you choose the trait that has put you into your initial tribe?
{4} Isn't the banner beautiful?!?!?!

Hey hey hey! It's Oaki the Oak Tree.
I like to photosynthesise, befriend woodland creatures, and I'm currently in the middle of launching my own brand of motorcycles.
My knowledge of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is intentionally minimal! It means I can pretend to be newer to this whole "Survivor" thing than I really am! Though to be honest, I'm really not the most experienced. I'm brushing out some cobwebs from my leaves as we speak!
My strategy is to try to get aligned with someone from the Wisdom tribe as soon as possible. The courage tribe is going to be filled with impulsive players like myself and I think that the last thing my game needs is someone just as erratic as me to work with!! So I'm gonna try to keep my head down and hope somebody else explodes the tribe first... though let's be real, it'll probably be me.
So, I won't say who I am, but let's just say that the last time I played Survivor I was definitely more known for how I interacted with people than how good I was at the game... but hey, that's where all the fun is anyway!
I think that it is very beautiful, I'd like to offer you a sponsorship deal! If you put up adds for my new motorcycle company, I'll offer support and give you ideas for upcoming challenges that will absolutely not be biased towards the Courage Tribe at all!

Oh man, just sending those day one PMs is bringing back memories...
I'm just so excited to be back, honestly!
I'm trying to get my motorcycle business off the ground, I'm not sure if it'll work or not. Currently my strategy is try to push my motorcycles onto the tribe and hope that I get enough money from that that I don't need the prize money from this game!
... There... there is prize money, right?

Oaki, so I'm new to this kind of forum, what does the Follow button actually do? I just noticed all of my tribe mates were following each other so I've done that too.
Hopefully it's not some code for a secret alliance or something.

Okay, so I just realised we have seven people in the tribe.
Seven is a good number, I like seven.
I prefer six, but hey, anything that's kind of small is good. Reminds me of my village.
Six is great because you only need two close Koroks and you're safe. You have half the vote.
Seven you need three close Koroks, which like, is doable, but is definitely harder. Gonna have to put some work in. Going to have to dial up my motorcycle salesman charm.

Link is cool, I can talk to him, but I also get the feeling that we're going to end up clashing about a gameplay move at some point if we work together long term. Just a feeling. Couldn't tell you why, but I feel like those impulses are why I'm on this tribe and I should trust them. But short term 100% could go with him.
Prince Sidon and Chio are the bomb. Love them completely. Chio and I got lucky both being tree people, it's given us something immediately to bond over. Sidon is just a brilliant lad, but that probably means everybody else thinks he's a brilliant lad. Being on a tribe with strong social players is going to do that, huh. I want to be with him at a tribe swap. If I can be in with him and he can easily get in with others, then that helps me out. And like, I like to think my social game is pretty decent too.
Riju is doing work things at the minute and is checking in when she can. That gives me good vibes. Can't really articulate why. It just is nice.
I think I woke up right when Robbie went to bed. And I haven't seen the horse yet, but going in for the motorcycle salesman routine and talking about how we make horses obsolete is going to lead to a fun first interaction, hey!

I've got myself two rupees, apparently.
Are these Hyrule's response to Fire Tokens?
Are we facing Hyrule's Edge of Extinction?
The big dilemma for me is: do I tell anybody about these? Surely they've all noticed them by now... right? The red circles around the forum to click on?
Riju might not have. And she will notice when she has the time to if she hasn't yet. So filling her in now won't actually disadvantage me but may give me a good long term bond and the appearance of trust.

Riju did indeed notice them already, but was very grateful that I warned her.
But she also has a billion more than me. But hey! A bond is a bond. Definitely worth bringing up, it didn't hurt me one bit and showed that I'm kind of a noob but a friendly noob who's a reliable vote.

Bus to work game thoughts (copied from phone):
Sidon asked me about the game first. Always a great spot to be in. Also very reminiscent of my last game. My only concern is that now I'm playing in the tribe of social players, I'm instantly more sceptical of everyone. They're all probably filling their confessionals with stuff like this. The only person who I'm convinced isn't is Riju. She's only giving the game half her attention because of work (at time of writing) and that works enormously in my favour. She seems to think I'm a total newbie (which isn't entirely wrong), and I intend on getting to sit comfortably in her back pocket masquerading as the confused sheep who needs guidance. The only problem with this is that Sidon, the guy who approached me about strategy, hasn't had good conversations with her. My ideal spot to be in is to be Sidon's number one and Riju's "goat" at the same time. Then if one goes down I have the other.
I did do one thing that could easily have been a mistake, but I feel equipped to deal with it and turn it into a strength if it is. When Sidon asked how I felt about everyone, I told him that Link seemed to be slightly off in a way that I couldn't identify. And like, it's true. I'm not sure I see him working with me long term. But I can't give him that explanation, it becomes clear then that I'm actually playing the game less than twelve hours in. But in telling him that right before disappearing I hope to make Sidon begin to overanalyse his conversations with Link and start to second guess him as well. Link, Sidon, and myself strike me as the three most likely to pull for power plays and keeping my eye on one person (Sidon) is easier than trying to keep my eye on two (Sidon and Link). I want it to become a fight between the two of them, or, failing that, a fight between me and Link. I can't openly fire the first shot, but I can begin question him.
I knew this tribe would be chaos, I'm just glad I've been able to get a clear goal. And if it is down to me vs Link then I have the upper hand. Chio and Riju will back me. They'll need both the horse and Robbie on side, but Chio made a comment that makes me think Robbie and Chio are tight. I think I can get the numbers should it come to that.
Another thing that I intend on doing: I don't think I want to collect too many rupees. Everyone's rupee total is public. If they are related to the game, then the first vote should be the person with the most if we don't have anything going on. So if I can make sure Link has the most rupees, if we get into a fight I have a legitimate reason to argue against Link: he has more currency than I do.
Being genuinely inexperienced is my biggest asset right now. I'm probably making newbie tells everywhere. So I hope they underestimate me.
Bus to home thoughts:
Okay so it seems that Sidon didn't buy that Link was suss. That's all good. Things are calmer than I thought they would be. I guess we're all pretty chill. I told Sidon that it's probably just the paranoia of being on a tribe of strong social players. I want to appear to be weak but easy to manipulate, as opposed to weak and a liability. What's that? This guy is freaking out but you can calm him down? Well that's someone to work with!
Right?
I hope so.
I don't know why, I just really like Riju. Normally I'm super social with heaps of messages but with her it's honestly natural just dropping in thoughts about rupees and stuff. I think because I offered her the tip immediately. Though Sidon offered me the same tip. Unfortunately my memory fails me but I'm pretty sure he had been collecting the rupees long before he told me he "discovered them", assuming Riju's theory that the numbers under our names show how many rupees we have is correct. I think he's trying to do to me what I did to Riju. I like this guy's plays. Kinda wanna recognise that I know he's probably made the discovery later than he claims but also recognise that I don't care. If you're gonna do that you should do it before your number has got high enough that I know you're having me on. Doing it at the right time is more effective. Even if it's not genuine, there's more evidence to support that it is.
I worry that Sidon doesn't seem to talk to Riju because I want to keep both of them. But I get the feeling that they're not going to work together.
I get the horrible feeling that Riju will be the first boot and like usually I wouldn't mind but because I feel I can trust her I'm not sure I want that. I want to have a way to shift the target onto someone like Chio, Robbie, or The Amazing Mr Ed. I don't think I can push it onto Link without arousing suspicion and I'm less confident that an all-out war that I initiated is a good play.
Also unrelated to the game but don't do a four hour shift with children without eating lunch first, I felt like I was about to pass out a couple of times there. Whoops!

~*Impa's Inquiries*~
Greetings young one, it is that time in this phase where I, Impa, come and invade your confessional with a series of questions aimed to get to know you and the state of the game without having to actually read more than the reply to this post to find out those answers! So please, be honest. I promise I have no nefarious plans for you or your answers, and that I handcrafted this questionnaire solely for you and definitely didn't copy-paste it to every player in the game.
1) You've had some time to get to know your fellow adventurers, tell me about them. Who all do you like? Who don't you like? Who reads like a threat, and who reads like a weakling?
2) Best one-liner you've sent or received in a PM so far?
3) What kind of twists are you hoping or expecting to see? What sort would be the worst possible for you?
4) What is the way you want to be perceived in this game? Which would you least like to be described as?
5) Summarize your game strategy in a gif.
6) What is your favourite rocks fact?
Thank you for your time, I'll be in touch if I don't die of old age and boredom between now and then.

1) I like Sidon and Riju a lot. Sidon and Link are the biggest social threats hands down. They keep long conversation threads, and Sidon has gotten to the game talk stage. Link being a bit slower on that makes sense, especially for a dominant player. From what I understand, the meta is currently "sit around and wait to talk game". Though having Sidon comfortable enough to talk game (indirectly) twelve hours in is nice. Riju doesn't seem like a big threat but a loyal ally? Though also a likely first boot. Slightly competent but absent and distracted. But the competent quiet one is the person I want around. I don't like Link long term, but I like him short term. The threats are Link and Sidon, easily. Riju is going to be weak and I think her game will suffer if we lose the first challenge. If I'm wrong that'll be hilarious but at the moment that's my guess. Robbie I think is also in trouble, though that might just be our time zones limiting communication options. 2) My best one liner? I've been enjoying my used motorcycle salesman gimmick. You guys aren't the only ones getting motorcycles! 3) These rupees are making me think they'll either be cooperative/tribe advantages or individual advantages. If they're individual advantages, then I want to collect the least. If they're cooperative I want to have the most. Which ties into question four... 4) I want to be perceived as a team player first. Which is always my play. Act all "I'm loyal to Ooolo Boloo" and then take up my best option. I need to appear to be completely new. I want people to underestimate me and think I'm easily perceived that way. My worst case scenario is being perceived as a useless new player/easy vote off, or as a potential dominant powerhouse. Best case is being perceived as a loyal new player who can be put in someone's back pocket long term. So I can screw them over and align with a wisdom tribe player who can, y'know, impart their wisdom on me. 5) Not a gif but a meme. Sorry if it's not allowed, I know these confessional question rules are very tight. Because I look kinda useless and silly but I'm gonna secretly kick arse. I hope. Man with all of this talking and strategising I'm gonna look hilarious if I'm the first one out. 6) I love that Dwayne Johnson has a Basil Brush episode that makes reference to him indirectly with a wrestler called The Stone. He quits because he's beaten everybody, and so Basil Brush and the guys start up their own wrestling group so they can relive their favourite Stone moments. Until The Stone joins their group since he has new people to beat and demolishes all of them (including the ref).

Side note:
My updated Rupee strategy is to not have the least Rupees or the most.
Within my tribe: Sidon 516 Riju 443 Link 189 Chio 47 Horse 43 Robbie 14
Currently on 50. To be safe I should hit around 100? I think that's a safe amount. Gonna check the numbers under the other tribes' people in the shared thread. Go and see who over there is doing well in the scavenger hunt.

Wisdom Tribe: Oven 407 Mipha 53 Pelison 41 Karson 27
Power Tribe: Teebo 72 Roscoe 71
The Power Tribe sticking to themselves makes sense given their archetype. Pretty sure all of us Courage gang have commented in the public space.
Most of The Wisdom Tribe spoke out and have been doing a bad job of collecting rupees... except the Oven. The Oven is probably running things over there. The others likely are avoiding drawing attention to themselves by collecting them. Kind of like what I'm trying to do. I don't mind having more than people not in my tribe, though. They can't vote me out. Unless there's one of those twists.

So something just dawned on me.
There were going to be 24 players. Three tribes of eight.
But...
There's a group called Temple of Time.
What is this group? There are three of them. That would bring the player count up to 24. Three tribes of eight. Which is what I was expecting.
Is our first challenge a reward challenge where we pick our favourite player?

Lol I just misread the intro. It's only 21 players. Whoops. Trees can't read!
But the Temple of Time is still a curiousity.
