You find yourself being put in the group that goes to find the Fifth Divine Beast. It appears to be coming from around the same area as the Resurrection Chamber, which surprises everyone. Given that is where you woke up from, you don't recall seeing anything out of the ordinary.
But nonetheless, this is where you are told to go, so you and a few other adventurers pull up your Sheikah Slate and head that direction. You arrive just outside of the cave, atop the plateau, and look inside. There doesn't appear to be anything out of the ordinary.
You aren't sure where exactly this is coming from, but you do feel a faint call, like a thought tugging on the back of your mind. You ready yourself and slowly descend to the place where your adventure began.
It doesn't take you long to enter the chamber. You see the small raised coffin shaped pool where you were submersed in before waking up and the small pedestal where you obtained the Sheikah Slate from.
The room itself, however, doesn't look any different from when you were here last. You tap your chin and then think. There are two options available to you in this room. The first is to lay in the pool and see if it does anything, or you can...
You walk over to the pedestal and place the Sheikah Slate on it. You aren't sure exactly what you are doing, but there doesn't appear to be much else to do here.
As you do the pedestal glows blue. The door where you entered from seals and you feel a lurch before slowly descending in the room. You blink and then realize you are on some sort of platform elevator. You look at your comrades and then decide to wait and see where this takes you. Since it involves the Sheikah technology, there must be some purpose. Maybe it has to do with-
Adventurers, you have arrived at the Fifth Divine Beast. This will be the final trial we can offer you. You have done well to get here and solving the puzzles within will prove your worth to inherit this. We wish you nothing but the strength, courage and wisdom of the Goddess.
You look around, but there's no one around. You shake your head. Another internal voice. You've had this a lot on your quest, and you can't wait until they finally silence, going back to sleep and getting rest. But, this is the quest you've been given and you will see it through to the end.
With another lurch, you all feel the platform come to a stop as the door opens. You look inside to see a giant chamber filled with many mechanical devices activating, much like gears on a clock. You see a single Guardian in the center of the chamber and a second layer of platforms above you. You gather this room has two levels, but aren't sure exactly how it all operates.
But before you can deal with that, you have to address the Guardian in the room. You are just about to try to hit it from multiple sides with your fellow adventurers when a voice calls out.
Hello, adventurers. You have finally arrived.
You turn around looking at each other. You aren't sure where this voice is coming from or who is talking.
I have been waiting a long time for you to come. My name is Maz Koshia. I have long awaited your arrival to this trial and I will be your final judge to deem you worthy of being able to command the Divine Beast that waits at the end.
You blink and then as you turn behind you, you almost jump out of your skin. A figure stands there. You can't make out their face though it appears to be Sheikah, but you have to assume this is Maz Koshia...whoever that is.
You are here for the Fifth Divine Beast correct?
You all nod as you look at Maz Koshia. You aren't sure exactly how to respond. It's not like you exactly knew why you were coming here, but something was calling you, and anything called a Divine Beast sounds like something you want on your side.
Then you must solve the puzzles within this Divine Trial. I will wait for you at the end to give you a final test. Until then, prove you are worthy to get there.
And with that, the figure vanishes seemingly into thin air. You shake your head...you were already prepared to do the challenges, but it sounds like there is an actual prize at the end should you succeed, which you figured there probably was. All-in-all, though you didn't find the meeting particularly enlightening, you still have to overcome the trial regardless, but at least you now have a name to the voice you'd been hearing this whole time.
You look to your other adventurers and begin to discuss how you will take out the Guardian in the center of the room again.
The entire Trial consists of having to activate four chambers, two above and two below. As you alternate between going into each one and using your abilities to solve the puzzles within, you find more and more mechanical beasts waiting to attack. This entire Trial seems to be testing your ability to gradually take on more. At one point you have to fight three Guardians, and it doesn't come without some burns from the blast.
Eventually you slide a pole obtained in one of the chambers, into the center of the room. As you do, you hear a clicking noise. Gears shift and turn. You hear groans and creaks. All of the work you put into each of the four chambers seems to have made the entire room come alive in mechanical harmony.
A circular door that had previously not budged now rolls to the side, revealing a pathway. You feel the rush of wind and smell the wet scent that comes after the rain. You've arrived outside? You head forward, ascending the stairs and walk up to a circular platform that sits at the very top of a plateau that you'd previously been inside of.
It appears it will rain any minute as you feel a sudden chill and clouds overhead form around you.
And just as you feel the first drop hit your cheek, the familiar Sheikah figure from before appears in the center of the platform, Maz Koshia.
Adventurers, you've done well to get here. I have two final tests to deem you worthy of inheriting the Fifth Divine Beast. The first is Brain and the other is Brawn.
You try to catch your breath and shake your head. You didn't realize there would be so much red tape to getting this Divine Beast. You wonder how this all got set up. Or who...
What can't talk, but will reply when spoken to?
Riddles aren't really your thing. You all are more the hack and slash the bad guys, save the girl type of adventurers. Maybe the occasional puzzle that utilizes your abilities. But this is not a test of power and it is not a test of courage. It is pure wisdom test.
You think about it for awhile. Something that can't talk but will reply? You guess a horse. Animals don't exactly talk but do tend to respond?
Maz Koshia shakes his head.
You think about it again for a bit. It's very specific about being spoken to. Like something you talk to...or maybe into?
You guess a tunnel.
He shakes his head again.
You take a moment, you feel like you were onto something with tunnel, but maybe that's not it. What else about a tunnel causes you to hear you own voice?
And then it hits you. You respond with An Echo.
You have proven your courage to follow me here. You have proven your wisdom to answer my riddle. Now, you must prove your strength and defeat me in combat. Come at me!
You blink and watch as he takes off the robe. You audibly gasp as you see the form of a Sheikah appear. This man has to be hundreds of years old, but wears the garb of a Sheikah proudly. He leaps backwards and holds his arms out in a strange pose as his entire body begins to glow.
You draw your sword as he suddenly becomes as large as one of the Divine Beasts you have faced. This is not going to be easy.
You all spread out in different directions as the giant Monk lashes out with a magic infused whip. You barely miss it, but hear a gasp. You watch as one of your fellow adventurers falls to the ground, his energy slowly being sapped. You feel your eyes widen as you watch his body slump to the ground.
The rest of you don't have time to debate this though as you quickly scatter, trying to take the giant Monk from many angles. You have your moments where you succeed in landing a couple hits, but also moments where you are knocked to the ground.
After awhile, the Monk shrinks and begins to dash around the battlefield. You try to keep up with him but he moves at lighting fast paces. Another one of your adventurers isn't able to keep up and is struck from behind. He falls to the ground.
This is not good, there are only a few of you left. Just when you are about to get up, your Sheikah Slate beeps. You pull it up and find a camera function. You've used this once or twice before in the past in order to find things far off in the distance with the zoom lens, but now as you put it up, you feel something click in the back of your brain.
You can see through the Monk's illusions and all of a sudden his speed slows as he is simply walking, but creating the illusion he is moving fast. The camera can see through his tricks.
You instruct your other adventurers where to strike as you watch, and together you are able to get more hits in.
The Monk lifts a blade once he's had his fill of this and holds it up as he rises in the air, levitating. He then dashes at you with intense speed. You try to use the camera, but it doesn't work. This is pure magic, there are no tricks or illusions here.
You grunt as you are knocked to the ground by a flying blade attack. He strikes your side a bit and you wince in pain. Just as you feel like you aren't going to be able to go on. You hear a clank. You look over to see the monk stagger a bit after having come in contact with the brunt end of a shield from your fellow adventurer.
He then puts his shield down and tries to go in to strike the Monk, but the Sheikah shakes his head and vanishes before he can strike. Then the Monk appears behind him and knocks him out cold with a flying attack. It's just you and one other adventurer left.
You quickly think because the Monk will come for you next. You can temporarily get him to be stunned after a shield, but you can't keep him in place before he recovers...or can you?
You signal to your remaining adventurer and quickly signal. They nod and position themself as the Monk dashes for you. With the strategy your fallen comrade used, you are able to use the shield to deflect the attack. The Monk staggers. Your comrade lifts his bow. He only gets one shot. You hold your breath as he prepares a shock arrow. It hits!
You watch as the Monk is stunned now and not moving. You rush in with your blade. As you strike him for the third time, he finally gasps and falls to his knee.
You've done it. You've proven you have the wisdom and strength. Now go forth with the courage to wield the Master Cycle Zero! And with that, Maz Koshia fades into nothingness. You quickly revive your other adventurers and then a small platform rises up in the center of the roof. Atop it, you see what looks like a mechanical device with two wheels. It certainly does look like a cycle.
The lot of you begin to walk towards it. You've done it. You've inherited the power of the Master Cycle Zero, the Fifth Divine Beast. You have proven you are ready to take on Calamity Ganon by having completed...
