After the call from Zelda, all adventurers split into four groups to quickly fell the massive Divine Beast. You find yourself as part of the crew that will take on the Giant Salamander known as Rudania. To do this you must quickly make your way to Goron City. With the help of the Sheikah Slate, you find that you are able to revisit places you've already been before in the blink of an eye. You quickly transport yourself to the realm of scorching heat, hoping you've left yourself enough time to conquer the Divine Beast.
Arriving shortly after at Goron City, you feel the heat and put on heat resistant armor you obtained from other adventurers that had been here before. Immediately, you feel relief from the blazing temperatures of this active volcano. But you also hear a rumbling as rocks begin to tumble all around you. You take shelter in a nearby shop until the rocks subside.
What the heck is going on?
You decide to seek out the Goron Chief, Bludo. He isn't too far and you enter his abode shortly thereafter.
Adventurers, thank goodness you showed up. Rudania has been activated and is reeking havoc to our village. I sent Yunobo to use his shield ability to try and stop it, but he hasn't returned and it's been awhile. I fear the worst. Please seek him out and work with him to quell the beast!
You have no reason not to comply with the request and immediately set out. The Chief points to Eldin Bridge as the last place Yunobo was seen. You hurry, having to take shelter every once in awhile to avoid the rocks, but eventually make it to the Bridge. As you do, you see a group of giant Moblins surrounding a giant glowing red ball...which is the familiar sign of Yunobo's shield ability.
Guess it's the heroes to the rescue! You all draw your blades and quickly advance, catching the Moblins off guard as you get a few slashes in before they are able to react. They try to jab at you, but you manage to evade their spears as you go in for more strikes.
The whole thing is over relatively quickly and soon you are shouting at Yunobo that it's safe now. He slowly drops the shield and stands up.
Gosh, sorry those guys were just so scary. I was going to help take down Rudania, but those guys showed up and started poking me with their sticks. It hurt. I'm glad you are here now. Can you help me get to the top of Death Mountain so I can use the cannons to take out Rudania?
Obviously, you all agree, that's why you're here! Together with Yunobo you cross Eldin Bridge and begin your dangerous trek up the somewhat steep rocky route. The heat is a little more intense here, but the armor seems to be holding up. You just hope it can withstand it the closer to the actual volcano you get.
As you climb, Yunobo quickly grabs your arm and pulls you into a nearby break in the rocks. You wonder why he does this, but just as you are about to question him, a red light blinks by. You look up to see a giant mechanical hover beast above you. Its not especially large, but it seems menacing, especially with the glowing red light scanning everything.
After it passes Yunobo gives you all a nod and you continue up. He explains those are called Sentries and recently appeared after Rudania woke up from its slumber. They now patrol the Mountain and hurt anyone who crosses paths with them. You make note of this as you scale the Mountain.
There are a couple others as you ascend, but with some fancy work with your abilities, you manage to either sneak by them or take them out.
You arrive shortly at a cannon. With Yunobos ability you could make him into a makeshift cannonball if only Rudania was near-
And then the ground begins to shake and you look up as giant robotic legs come from around the side of the volcano. With a rumble and roar you see the giant mechanical Salamander emerge. It appears to be heading directly for you, albeit slowly. It doesn't seem like it moves very fast. Probably due to its size.
As it continues, Yunobo crawls into the canon and readies himself. You aim it and then, using one of your bomb abilities, you light it once the Salamander is in the right position. Your aim is true as Yunobo careens with the Beast and hits it with his defense ball. It bellows out and begins to crawl away to another side.
The Goron is ricocheted back onto the nearby path and he shakes his head, shaking off the dizziness before giving you a thumbs up.
You chase the Salamander, striking it with two more canons along the way until with a final cry, it crawls into the volcano itself. You and Yunobo are nearly at the top and look overhead as you stare down. The beast rests in the middle of the volcano, as if recharging from your attacks.
I suppose you are going down there? I guess it's unavoidable, but I won't be able to follow you. Even Gorons have their limits. I will be sending you as much luck as I can though. You've got this hero!
You give Yunobo a wave as with a running jump you hurdle down, ready to pull out your glider, and to conquer the Divine Beast...
Rudania!
