Secondly, the Horse boot. I put together the following connections graph, and Sidon put together the following top 5s, based on what people were claiming:
(Orange dots represent not all connections being known)
There are some mistakes in the latter - namely Revali matching with Kohga (that should be red) and we later filled out Patricia's row but never updated the sheet. The most important thing was that claim that Horse and Revali both placed one another in their top 5, but neither matched with one another. It is suspected that Horse was attempting to conceal a link to Oaki with this.
The initial plan was once again Oven, as people were looking for an easy vote. But once again, it couldn't stay that easy.
Some discussion revealed that Oven was attempting to hide his connection to Horse, which amusingly Horse did not get the memo about as he had stated openly he had that link. Further information from Hunnie and (through me) from Patricia revealed the presence of a 'coalition of minnows' from the previous round - Oaki, Oven, Patricia, and Horse, who had approached Hunnie to join also. To prevent Oven having an idol played on him and this alliance taking some degree of control, Epona hatched a cunning plan.
She was connected to Urbosa, Kohga, Sidon, Revali and Horse. All except the latter had good reason to want this alliance to fail. If she could get her good friend Kass on board, plus those initial 4, that is a straight majority and any one of them could be blindsided.
But there's an issue. Kass is close to Patricia - perhaps too close to be trusted with this information? Would he not leak it, and perhaps cause an idol to be correctly played? So, the vote needs to be catered towards Kass. Kass needs to have every reason to want this vote to go through.
And who does Kass want gone?
And so it was that Kohga and Sidon were tasked with cautiously talking Kass around to the idea of a blindside against Horse. Sidon took his job extremely seriously, veeeeerrrrryyyy slowly approaching the subject of the minnows first, then of a potential blindside, then after an agonisingly long time bringing up that the blindside could be against Horse if Kass wanted it to be.
After which Kass stopped banging his head against the desk and went YES I'M ON BOARD FOR THAT. A statement he was ready to type for the last 8 hours since Kohga had given him an infodump about the whole situation. In order to keep their connection under the radar, Kass had to wait to mention it until Sidon gave the information.
Unfortunately, I'd been particularly tired that morning and had not read Kohga's message properly, and had told Patricia about the Horse vote immediately. Who told Hunnie about it. So in reality this whole caution was for naught because both Patricia and Hunnie knew about the 'blindside' a half-day before Kass was even supposed to know. Thankfully it appears that Hunnie kept it under wraps for most of the phase - Kohga informed Hunnie of the vote and the fact it was supposed to be on the downlow to maintain that connection regardless, and Patricia had no other links. I was 100% convinced Patricia was telling the truth on that point.
It ended up being a fairly easy Horse vote, despite all of the agonising leadup. But Hunnie did talk to Sidon about it right towards the end of the phase, so I had to pretend to have just had a moral moment and told Patricia about the vote because I felt bad for her. Reasons I didn't have and apologies I didn't mean for something I'd done ages ago at that point. It was an amusing moment. I do not believe Patricia was ever particularly serious about the minnows coalition, so the secrecy was pointless regardless.
Then this twist happened.
