What's the puzzle trick? Inquiring minds with sore hands want to know I don't know if it applies here but I've heard of people screenshotting and pausing (and I guess probably using arrange?) to take time to look for pieces to assemble or something like that, then unpause, make the moves, and repeat. I dunno if that's what Kohga is talking about or if there's something entirely unrelated going on.

you're allowed to take a screenshot, pause the puzzle, line your mouse up with approximately the location of the piece you want, unpause, place the piece, and pause again

you're allowed to take a screenshot, pause the puzzle, line your mouse up with approximately the location of the piece you want, unpause, place the piece, and pause again I'm a very big fan of challenges becoming "Who can get closest to breaking the spirit of the game without actually cheating" as the norm It's very fun. Between the jigsaws and the inventory challenge and the glitch in flappy bird, the ability to pregame a bunch of codewords for the password challenge, and apparently a glitch in shield surfing... I dunno. I think this new meta that's evolved since I played last may just not be for me. It feels less like "who has skill" and more like "let's reward people who break the idea of the challenge". Even then, outside of those challenges, we had the cooking challenge where I couldn't tell from my screen resolution how many bumps were on things, an auction with 900 items in it, an immediate immunity where two people were immune because lolrandom, a fake endurance challenge that ended not mattering, and a fake out majority rules where instead it artificially limited communication to people. The maze challenge was great, as was the cliff challenge. Didn't see or participate in the Sheikah Slate challenge, so dunno how that one was. And yes, I may be just salty about everything because I like to think I'm not shit at challenges, but to me, challenges test a separate skillset of Survivor from the strategy and the social game. But instead it seems like challenges became just another tests of those two separate skills. The only challenge this game I felt like actually tested skill was the maze challenge, and even then, people threw it for strategic reasons. Meh.

could mods get around that by saying like “after you click this link and receive the puzzle you have 30 minutes to turn in your best score”? That's the general solution, yeah. Also helps with the problem of some people having a lot more free time than others and just being able to grind. It's nice to have some challenges you are allowed to grind at - spices things up a little - but imo they should usually be in the minority.

(I say that as someone who has way too much free time and usually benefits from grindable challenges )

I wouldn't call it the meta. It's just this game that had weird ideas about challenges.
I also liked the maze one. Family feud was ok, and the f5 challenge was fun. Password with exploits was worth trying once I think, but ultimately it didnt end up being good.
The puzzle I wish they had banned that technique or used a shorter time limit like suggested above which would eliminate the strat as it takes fucking hours. I get what they were going for with having it 3 times, and it could've been interesting ("we have to vote out x because they'll win the puzzle") if things had been different.
