Here you'll find the spreadsheet to create your beast, this spreadsheet has 2 sheets on it, a ‘Creation’ sheet and a ‘Beast’ sheet, typing anything into any cell on the ‘Creation’ sheet will fill in that same cell on the ‘Beast’ sheet Your ‘Beasts’ should look a little bit like a Maze with the starting point being the Green Square and the ending point being the Red Square You may discuss how you want to make your beasts or just go straight in and start designing, just remember that however it looks in 24 hours is how it'll end Make sure you sign out of google or use incognito mode before clicking on the spreadsheet Click here to make your beast

Ok, I've been asking a few questions.
We all have to do all three mazes and we can't confer. SO in terms of maze strategy, generally it is good to go from both ends but that's fairly simple, just I guess be speedy.
I think best would be to open it a few times in paint or whatever so you don't need to erase if you get it wrong or need to worry about unfilling and refilling, however you are showing your solutions.
For making the maze, I can't find any gimmicks. We are only allowed to turn cells on and off. I think the best option is to just make branches, especially good if they loop. It won't get everyone, but if we can keep strand relatively far apart before bringing them together we can waste people's time. Also using the edge of the 'map' is a good idea because that saves up space on not having to make an outer wall. Diagonal walls will also save space.

Yeah, that all sounds sensible to me. One thing I wasn't clear on but I only just got home and had just glanced at the post earlier, it said we post solutions in our confessional, does that mean our time starts ticking as soon as the mazes are posted for part 2? Or just once we submit a form?

A thought occurs.
We should all make mazes, save them, than have the other two solve it. Maze solved in longest time is our submission. Thoughts? That said, I likely won't have a heap of time tonight, but I would be happy to do it.

I found a paper on maze complexity and difficulty. Doesn't really help a heap.

I am not a fan of this challenge, it seems like a huge pain in the ass. Per the posts in the public forum, maybe we use a maze generator? It still seems like a pain translating that to the spreadsheet, and I'm not sure that conventional maze generators would even fit this model, since they'd typically have walls between cells rather than a wall being a block occupying a cell.

Ok, I have made a maze. Took fkn ages.
Want to see if it is actually hard at all. Take a screenshot of the full maze in case we go back to it if you want to make your own.

Ok so the nature of white space is making diagonal whites fuck with your eyes, so I have been removing any extra corner pieces I have that don't serve a purpose of blocking.
I think the two typed bits incorporated in to the maze are potential distracting things to buy some time and don't lower the complexity of the maze itself. There is a huge loop in the maze and I have found, even knowing the way my eyes get tricked in to not seeing the correct route in two areas which is really strong because those also happen to be right next to the loop tunnels.
I am not sure any real changes can be made to make any noticeable difference. If you'd like to muck around, go for it, just test it first, then after you play with it, either revert it or leave yours for testing but take a screenshot first so you can revert later. If you do change it and it turns out quicker when yours gets tested, then revert it.
Not sure if there is any more tricks or fucking with eyes I can do, the only real thing I can think of is optical illusions, but I have already incorporated a fair bit of that in two areas both relevant.
Other than that, yeah, when it comes to actually doing the others mazes, just open it a few times, so you can save time on editing it for submission.
