After the call from Zelda, all adventurers split into four groups to quickly fell the massive Divine Beast. You find yourself as part of the crew that will take on the Giant Camel known as Naboris. To do this you must quickly make your way to Gerudo Town. With the help of the Sheikah Slate, you find that you are able to revisit places you've already been before in the blink of an eye. You quickly transport yourself to the realm of endless sand, hoping you've left yourself enough time to conquer the Divine Beast.
Arriving shortly after at Gerudo Town, you immediately don the special clothes that make you appear as female. If you are caught or thought to be of male persuasion, you would be thrown out. As you change, a sudden sandstorm kicks up. You try to shield your face, but end up getting some in your mouth. You cough up the grainy substance as you make for cover in a nearby outcropping. Several merchants have huddled under it as well. You all press against the wall until finally there is a break in the sandstorm.
Once it breaks, you see a thin layer of sand has covered part of the town. You need to hurry. You make your way up to the palace as the adventurers who came here before found some use in speaking to the Geurdo Chief, Lady Riju. You arrive at the steps and ascend into the main hall. As you step inside two guards lower their axes, preventing you from passing. You are about to protest when a voice rings out.
Guards, lower your weapons. These adventurers are here to see me, and it cannot wait.
The voice seems, young, for what you were expecting. When you think of a Chief or Lady, you generally think of someone older or possibly maybe more regal sounding. However, this person has to be barely a teenager. As the guards raise their axes you get a better look.
Sure enough, you look upon the eyes of a child. Her red hair is braided, the throne she sits on dwarfs her, and in comparison to the guards around her, she is tiny. However, there is a presence about her. Something very regal looking that you didn't hear in her voice. It might be the crown on her head, or the way she's sitting, but there is something about her that feels commanding.
You walk up to her.
Welcome heroes. Unfortunately, you've come at a very trying time for our settlement. The Divine Beast Naboris has begun to stir up the sands around us, causing us grief. If it goes on, soon we will be buried in sand. We need to put a stop to it. My mother's Thunder Helmet should be able to get us close enough, but I don't have the warriors necessary to take it down once we are close. It has proven too much for them. But if you all agree to help, I think we might be able to possibly end this assault. Are you willing to help?
Well even if you wanted to refuse, you doubt you could do much better. The sandstorm you just experienced was more than you could handle. Without another doubt in your mind, you all accept the mission. Riju smiles and then stands up. The guards try to offer to assist in her place but she holds her hand up and they all stop talking. Despite her age and stature, Riju clearly rules with a deep wisdom and command. She is wise beyond her years and holds herself proudly. She is clearly Chief and has a plan.
She walks over to a nearby chest and pulls out a golden helmet. You presume this to be the Thunder Helm. Riju explains that although only sandstorms are felt long distance from Naboris, that closer up, it generates powerful thunder storms, which is why only someone with the helmet can get close.
You follow her as she heads out back of the palace to a stable. Inside you see giant walrus like creatures known as Sand Seals. You know that these are popular for desert racing, and a useful transportation method for traveling in sand.
She hands you the reigns to one while she takes the other. She explains that she will put on the helmet and that you are to stay close to her. Once you are within range of Naboris, you have to shoot it down with exploding arrows on its feet. You wonder how she knows this, but she doesn't divulge further, it doesn't sound like even if she had attempted to take it down in the past, that it went well.
You pick up some more bomb arrows as you follow her out of town.
The plan in motion, you climb on the back of the Sand Seal and wait for her command. She dons the Thunder Helm and then gives you a nod as she kicks the Seal with her heel and it begins to speed off. You all follow close behind.
No sooner than you do, the sand storm kicks up again. It rages, but thanks to the Thunder Helm, you seem to be under a glowing dome of sorts. This dome appears to protect you from the storm's rage. So long as you don't leave it you figure you'll be-
And then your arm accidentally goes outside of the dome. You yelp as sand scrapes your arm and quickly pull it back in. It's not seriously injured, but you now see why this is necessary, if you were in that storm it would tear you to shreds. With this in mind you make sure to follow a little closer behind Riju as you race into the desert.
Eventually the towering Beast becomes obvious as it starts to emerge from the storm. It moves very slow, likely due to the length of it's legs and overall size. But, when you get closer, you do notice the ground trembling when it does step down. It's clearly very powerful and ferocious.
Riju then changes course so now you are running alongside the Beast. You pull out your bow and arrow, which is difficult on the back of a Sand Seal. It takes some getting use to but you finally find your balance as you aim one of the exploding arrows at a leg. But where do you shoot?
You scan, trying to make sense of what your target is. And then you see it. A glowing orb on the back of a leg. It's not the easiest target, but you now have some sort of idea of how to take down the Divine Beast. With an aim that can't be beat, you strike the first target. It connects and the Beast bellows.
As it does, lightning strikes above you, hitting the dome but missing you. It crashes and thunders all around and it makes you tremble. You are very thankful to have the Thunder Helm now as the dome appears to have absorbed all of the blow.
Riju motions for you to follow as she starts to swing around the other side of the Beast. You quickly realize she is helping you get vantage points to take out the rest of the legs. You follow without hesitation.
After you connect the last arrow to the last leg, the Beast hows as it slowly crumbles to its knees. As it does, you realize you can climb them to now enter the inside of the giant Mechanical Camel. The storm also seems to subside as you do.
Riju wishes you well as she takes your Sand Seal, promising to try to handle things outside while you finish the job. You nod and begin to scale the leg until you are inside of the Divine Beast...
Naboris.
