There's no time for rest for the weary! The remaining heroes who survived the first trials quickly gather up into sets of three to visit the six settlements. You find yourself in the crew of adventurers headed for the Tumultuous Volcano Colony known as Goron City. You and the other two adventurers who appear to be joining you for this take your paragliders, give each other a nod and leap off.
The wind whips your face as you take in the sight of Hyrule. The lands are covered in a blanketed darkness, but as you sail past the clouds, you see the splendor of the trees and the sparkling lakes that coat the land in a brilliant display of colors. The tall rocky peaks line the continent as if holding the entirety of the lands, protecting them from outside horrors. But alas, as you sail beyond the central point, you see the purple clouds that plague them from within. The sinister, dark aura that adds pressure as you descend. Calamity Ganon is the virus that must be cured, and you know time is not on your side.
You land in one of the many fields of green, and pull out the sheikah slate and pull up the map function that appears to have updated to your current area. You and your two new comrades look around and begin to head in the direction that a small glowing yellow dot.
~~~~~~~~~~~
After trekking for what feels like hours, the three of you go from the damp soft grassy meadows to rough, unbearable rocky paths. Taking steps feels like your energy is being sapped from your body. Step by step, you struggle as you feel you are burning up from the intense heat of the volcano. Soon you and your two comrades are forced to turn back after your shield explodes into flames.
Knowing that it's no longer safe to traverse the devastating terrain, you go back down the mountain until you are at one of the many stables in Hyrule. You know you probably don't have a lot of time left in the day and you decide to get a room for the night. it won't do you any good to burn up on a mountain and you need time to properly prepare.
Just as you are about to sleep, you notice someone outside the inn selling bottles of a red liquid. Normally, you probably would just let it go, however you feel a pull. Maybe on a subconscious level your curiosity is trying to tell you to visit with this person. You walk up and begin asking about the bottles of liquid.
Yeah? You are curious about this? This is Fireproof Elixir. it can help you resist the firey heat of the volcano if you drink it, but it doesn't work very long...kind of an invention of mine, but i can guarantee you won't find anything else. That volcano packs quite a punch as i'm sure you've experienced, so what'll it be?
You all discuss it a bit. There's no way you are getting to Goron City without this. After pooling the meager amount of funds you've managed to gather by this point, you are able to get three potions, one for each. Apparently they have a limited time on them. in order not to waste the opportunity you've been given, you all decide to make posthaste. in full sun, you can't imagine that the volcano is going to be good. With a nod to each other, just as the moon begins to rise, you all head out after gulping down the somewhat bitter tasting liquid. it's got a bit of a kick to it though and you find yourself having to take some water to help with the heat of the stuff. After it finally cools off, you notice a considerable difference. The heat from the volcano is definitely more like a warm breeze now.
The three of you begin the trek up the side of the volcano. Apparently, you aren't the only one though.
As you ascend the mountain, you encounter a wide variety of heat resistant enemies who apparently thrive in these conditions. A number of terrifying lizalfos, some scorching red chuchu, and even a few monstrous bats all descend at you. You draw your swords, which now don't immediately burst into flames thanks to the potion, and begin fighting. Blade clashes with gnashing teeth as the echoes cascade into the night. Eventually, you manage to thwart all of the beasts, but your weapons are worse for wear. You hope you have enough to keep going.
Along the way, you have to avoid skirmishes with remnants of the Guardians, evil controlled machines from days of ancient re animated by Calamity Ganon. You stealthfully use the shadows in order to avoid detection as you sneak past them.
Your feet are sore and your weapons are on the edge of breaking as you finally come around the corner and a small sign that reads...
"Goron City"
As you finish reading the sign, you suddenly start to feel scorching hot. Oh no, the potion is wearing off. You hurry into the city in the hopes to finding something that will keep you from burning alive, and then finding clues to find information about the Divine Beast that crawls along the side of the volcano. Hurry up!
