Side Note: Part of the reason answering a question like Kass' was so hard was that since I am so reactionary, it's hard to make any plans without first probing what people want to do, both short and long term, and figuring out what to do from there.

Also addendum, when you give away information without knowing where people stand, it's very easy to backfire. Like how easily Mipha's idol like was cross checked. Saying different things to people who don't talk a lot can work out well, saying them to people who will talk is well....very easy to get you labelled as untrustworthy.

This will be my last question, and it goes out to all three of you.
Bearing in mind what you know about me specifically - what is the single most key thing that is going to make me vote for you over the other two?
You can be generic or specific as you like with your answer.

This will be my last question, and it goes out to all three of you. Bearing in mind what you know about me specifically - what is the single most key thing that is going to make me vote for you over the other two? You can be generic or specific as you like with your answer. I mean I really want to go in on a narrative about how with all that could have been between us, and us having a "rivalry" throughout the game that the natural conclusion of one of us being standing at the end is a respectful bow and vote, but like that's a reason I would vote for you if our positions were reversed, I don't think that reasoning actually is something that appeals to you. This question is hard because I think we are of very different minds when it comes to the game, I think we value different strategies greatly. You favor a game of being proactive and I favor one of being reactive. You favor one of dominance, I'm fine just getting by day to day. However, where I think we coincide in that the "best game" tends to be one where you are willing to risk yourself to advance your game. I think Urbosa fails this qualifier for you in a direct comparison. Unlike you they weren't willing to go to tribal to help Sidon. Unlike you, who had 2 items and gave them both away to benefit your allies they barely did anything with theirs, instead holding onto them until the last minute. I think that not only did Mipha benefit from beyond the grave information that no one else could get or verify, but they've pretty much said that even with that revelation earlier they just...would have been voted out anyway. It is humbling to be sure but I think shows that their game just, wasn't the best. Not only did my game not kill me, but I think I show'd in my answers that exact willingness to put myself at risk. As flawed as the read that led me to it may be, my F7 - end plan in your weird alternate universe relies on me being at risk in rocks, and I just...shrugged it off, which I think most people wouldn't do, but I think you sure as hell would. And if hypotheticals aren't enough for you (because frankly, my whole method of probing people is hard to do in a hypothetical), I remembered something I tried to do with that item patricia gave me, when I still thought it might be real and was just a weak split vote. The following pieces are between Sidon and me and occur at F7. Sidon: Me: We then talked about a lot of other stuff and concluded it wasn't necessary, especially since votes shifted. I'd post more but don't want to use tooooo much of my PMs as supportive evidence. I think this shows 3 things, all of which you'd think are good: 1. My social game was good enough that I was openly talking game with Sidon 1 round after he tried to vote me out, this is at least partially why Oven was the countervote, not me. 2. This shows I was willing to just undermine what Urbosa wanted and take the lead. 3. I think you just like the idea I would be willing to use an item to save a potential ally and not myself, while also making a 3-3-3 tie, which either you'd like or find too reminiscent of your elimination I think this shows I was exactly the type of player you wanted me to be when you opened up this FTC and that yes, my game was pretty good considering what little I had to work with, and that it is in fact, the best game of the 3 finalists. Be sure to look out for my closing statment, mon ami wazu and take a picture only you'd understand:

Yeah when I learned that Kohga had the Ancient Arrow at F6, I may have raged in either my confessional or modfessional at the sadness of how ridiculously powerful that would have been. Also totally would have been kind of ridiculously unfair but...sooooo cool as well.

I would also like to address the following: I think Urbosa fails this qualifier for you in a direct comparison. Unlike you they weren't willing to go to tribal to help Sidon. Unlike you, who had 2 items and gave them both away to benefit your allies they barely did anything with theirs, instead holding onto them until the last minute. I've walked through my thoughts with regard to the discussions in Naboris several times now. If everything I have said isn't satisfactory in your eyes by this point, then there isn't much I can say to alter that opinion. With regard to items, I would like to point out the following: Of the advantages I used, I passed off two to allies (the Sensor+ to Link and the Fire Arrow to Oven) and used two to protect players (the Ice Arrow at Final Six on Epona and Urbosa's Fury at Final Five on Revali). That tallies four items used on other players to both strengthen social and strategic ties, protect allies, or otherwise advance my game. I played Revali's Gale intending to remove an idol from play; instead, I got a half-idol. I took a risk at Final Five and refrained from playing my own idol, a move that could have easily sent me to the Jury. Instead, I am here. I could have misplayed any number of these earlier on, but unlike other players in this game I devised situations to clear out other items while keeping my own to use at the proper time. If you are looking for grit, let me also direct you to a play that hasn't really been touched upon: The bonds I formed with Ancient Oven (through social and strategic means) resulted in my closest ally in the endgame passing me his Remote Bomb before his blindside. I kept this a secret until using the bomb to nullify Epona's half-idol -- the very player who targeted Oven with two votes a few rounds prior -- to seal their fate. Fair, I guess saying "barely did anything" doesn't quite get across the nuance I meant. Allow me to make this more clear. Sensor+ I've already touched on how that doesn't really feel like doing much with the item, especially since as kass said, y'all weren't flipping, fire arrow was used appropriately but I'm unsure it made the difference. Also those two items were probably the least impactful of the items you had. Kass gave away their steal a vote, an item so powerful it sealed F7, and Daruk's Protection, which would have saved Patty in any round except the one they played it in. In each of those cases, Kass wasn't even immune. And those were ALL the items they had I believe. Ice Arrow was played right when it expired, hence the term "last minute" and was used to cover the situation created by not using it earlier. That's not risk taking. Also Revali's Gale was such a ridiculously strong item( even when you whiff you reset the TC) that it's the only one I find use hard to quantify in terms of whether it was used as effectively as it could have. Final Five you deserve some credit, you did put yourself at risk (though why you'd think anyone would willingly vote into an idol at F5 does make me curious, the only question was whether you had it and it was apparent you at least had that and the half idol). I also have made it clear that I feel I was the exception to many rules when it came to your play. However, this once again, was the last round for the item and I still think it would have been better used in earlier rounds. You also didn't use the half idol or vote blocker, two items you just let go to waste. It's not fair to say you didn't use your items to further your goal, but it certainly is fair to say they were used past their prime and held onto too long. I guess we did have this argument though and it's up to the juror's to decide how true it is. Also with regards to the Oven play, I do need to ask just how that happened. Because I distinctly recall me being the one to suggest that you could get Oven to give his nullifier to you, since you were immune and it'd die with them potentially. If they did it without you suggesting it, good show, but I would not take kindly of you taking credit for a suggestion I made.

To be clear, at F8 I suggested that Oven handing items to Urbo during the revote and then being given back them after it was resolved could be possible. Context is probably key in that.

Is it cool if I just respond here? I'll keep it brief to not clutter your thread: Oven and I had passed the Remote Bomb back and forth several times through the Merge, and that decision was entirely theirs.

DesignateUrbosa never asked me for my items. The reason she knew I had an idol nullifer in the first place was due to me temporarily passing it to her at F9 by surprise. To tell the truth later I realized this was a huge strategic error on my part but I reasonably assumed we'd use it to eliminate PrinceSidon other people later, not need it to stop TerminatorUrbosa from win-streaking.

That's not why I was reading this originally, I meant to ask a question! What's something you're going to miss about each individual now that we're no longer pressured to continue conversations? Example: I need to stop turning on 8 hour speedruns assuming I'm going to stop in the middle. Natural inclination is never to stop. I've learned a modicum of self-control about it through practice!

Example: I need to stop turning on 8 hour speedruns assuming I'm going to stop in the middle. Natural inclination is never to stop. I've learned a modicum of self-control about it through practice! I mean I'm sure a lot of these things will come up whenever we reminisce on past games but I'll try not to shirk on the intent of this with that argument. Also once again, sorry Riju, we barely met (though your posts as a juror have made me sad we didn't get to). Mags - What I'll miss most is just well, how well we got along from the get go. Of the recommendations of things I got only two were actually done. One was Monster Prom (from Royal Horse) and the other was Schitt's Creek from Mags. Honestly our conversation flowed so easily from shows to game talk to whatever that it's hard to pick out a single thing and we only talked for 72 hours. Teebo - So part of this was in fact gimmick but Teebo had this lovely nature that sort of made you feel as if he looked up to you and ugh, since it's part gimmick it'll definitely be gone post game I guess Peli- Talking about Korean Reality TV was a great time and I need to add Crime Scene to the list of shows to watch when this is all over. In fact, just talking about various reality TV formats with them was nice since they're familiar with a lot of shows I am not familiar with at all. Also puns and hitting them with gifs this FTC has been hilarious. Link - Oh sharing japanese music was the thing I enjoyed the most with Link. Our conversation lines were short and quick and damn was that taste in music good, especially since they don't actually watch all that much anime. Royal Horse - So one of the things I'll miss the most of Royal Horse is just how sharp they are. Like when I put out a call for an F3 I was not expecting them to respond with an even longer post about everything we needed to do in detail. Like I knew from my chats early on they clearly had good survivor strategy ideas, but I learned the depth of that right away. I kind of love strategy talk so it was amazing to get a dose of that. Also, talking about all the different dating sims was great and I'm definitely saving that list somewhere where I'll access it post game, since they named a bunch of games I like and Monster High was a huge success. Patricia- So what I'll miss about Patty is not any conversation we had, but just the grit they posses. They were in a not great spot most of the game but kept trying to change that and they even managed to pull one over on me twice. Once on first tribe and once on lost woods. Hunnie - Of my conversations people this game, mine with Hunnie were the shortest, but I'll miss how sweet they are, like they were incredibly positive about most things and I don't think there is a mean bone in their body based on our short conversations. I just wish I had more time to probe the game with them and see where that led, but alas, survivor is a cruel mistress. Kass - I mean with Kass, I'll always feel there was a world where we actually work together on tribe 1, dominate the game and duke it out at the end in an unbreakable F2. What I'll miss most aside from that "potential" is just sending videos to each other about random shit. Like I shared weird photoshops, BDG videos and the like with them and they got me hooked on hangman strategy and Catan. Like bizarre niche topics that we surprisingly interesting is our brand and I'll miss those convos, hopefully they'll continue Oaki- So Oaki is frankly amazing. Like so many things I'm going to miss about him, I know we ended in a not exactly great place but I'll never forget working with them on the shield surfing, trying to optimize our strategies and help out Peli, briefly changing the name of the tribe to Guns n' Roses and all the other shennanigans on Korok (you can include this with Peli's entry as well). I think what I'll miss most is how they were willing to go to great lengths with their game to do wild stuff that also made sense. Like throwing the password challenge was insane and backfired, but I got why they did it. Even though they did try to kill me I respect the hustle of that a lot, it's unfortunate that a lot of their plans just...never got off the ground, unlike my paragliding motorcyle. BOOM BABY! Worked in a motorcycle line. Oven - With you, what I'll miss most is actually your gimmick. Like I feel so often in games gimmicks get in the way of gameplay and conversation but yours just enhanced it. You'd always include a funny line or turn of phrase even in our more serious conversations, making them a lot more fun. I couldn't help but smile whenever I read something from you. How is Bob doing btw? Did they even conquer all of hyrule or was the power of friendship enough to keep them contained. Sidon - Oven you should avert your eyes with what I'm about to say, I liked talking to Sidon. We had a lot of enjoyable game talk but the moment I enjoyed most was when we broke from that and just shared just videos of animals and humans rescuing animals. It really endeared me to them and just I dunno, made me want to talk with them even more. Epona - Enthusiasm and Comfort. Epona is a master of just exuding ethusiasm and good vibes. Even when they were complaining about challenge design and the like I couldn't help but It also helped that they were enthusiastic about the proposal as well and contributed a lot to reminding me that in survivor, you have to be adapatable, something that I reminded myself of through the following rounds. Also there were times where I was more nervous than others and Epona just...knows how to talk me down in those moments. Kohga - Kohga is chill. Like super chill, like the kind of chill I feel we could just hang around all day, say nothing and have everything feel cool kind of chill. He was never overbearing in the game and knew how to give their viewpoint while feeling completely earnest at all points of time, even when we weren't actually working together. Mipha- Mipha is a WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEB! Like if they don't think I'm going to hunt them down when I watch Tower of God and give them a dozen other reccomendations they are incredibly mistaken. I am going to and they are going to like it. Secondarily they just seem like a good human being IRL. I didn't trust them a lot in game but they seem like a good friend who likes people a lot. Urbosa- So I've hassled Urbosa A LOT this FTC, but don't think for a second that means I don't adore them. As y'all have seen, Urbosa has a way with words, like when they try to write something epic sounding it can be really fucking epic sounding. I can get away with a good line or two, but when it comes to anything longer they are the best. Also I have to agree with the sense of comraderie, they had a lot of good insights this game on what to do next and while I didn't agree with all of them, the conversation was great and fulfilling. I had many partners this game, Mags was the first, Oaki was the wildest, you were the funniest and many people compete for the most strategic, but Urbosa, Urbosa was the one that lasted and that I will never forget. Hopefully this is the last question we get cause, it feels like an appropriate last one.
