Each of you will compete try to build the most amazing Wonder in all of Hyrule. However you are very busy and your workers aren’t the smartest and can’t think for themselves, therefore you’ll need to create a set of instructions for them to follow. Yes that’s right, this is a bots based game! If you already know how to play 7 Wonders or have watched the video then skip to the bit that says BOTS! General 7 Wonders rules: The game is split up into 3 ages, at the start of each age, each player is given a pack of 7 cards, they pick 1 card to play and pass the rest of them to the next player, you keep picking and passing cards until 1 card is left, this final card is then discarded. Upon picking a card you can play it in 1 of 3 ways: -Build the card itself -Discard the card to build a stage of your wonder -Discard a card to gain 3 coins Cards and wonder stages have a cost to pay: -For the most part the cost is to be producing certain resources -If you do not produce enough resources, you may pay a neighbour to use their resources for 2 coins per resource -Some cards require you to pay coins into the bank -Some cards are free -Some cards are upgrades and will be free providing you have already built a certain card in the previous age There are 7 types of cards used in the game: -Raw Materials (brown cards): these structures produce resources (Lumber, Stone, Bricks, Ore) -Manufactured Goods (gray cards): these structures produce resources (Glass, Paper, Fabric) -Civilian Structures (blue cards): these structures score victory points. -Scientific Structures (green cards): these structures score victory points depending on your progress in the three scientific fields (Compass, Tablet, Gear) -Commercial Structures (yellow cards): these buildings earn coins, produce resources, change commerce rules and sometimes earn victory points. -Military Structures (red cards): these buildings increase your military might. This comes into play during Conflict resolution. -Guilds (purple cards): these buildings allow players to score points according to specific criteria Scoring Points: Military Conflicts Age 1: Each Victory = +1 Victory Point, each Defeat = -1 Victory Point Age 2: Each Victory = +3 Victory Points, each Defeat = -1 Victory Point Age 3: Each Victory = +5 Victory Points, each Defeat = -1 Victory Point
Civilian Structures Score Victory Points on your Blue cards
Scientific Structures For each of the 3 science symbols score how many identical symbols you have 1 = +1 Victory Point 2 = +4 Victory Points 3 = +9 Victory Points 4 = +16 Victory Points
For each set of ALL 3 SCIENCE SYMBOLS score +7 Victory Points
For example I have 2 compasses, 2 tablets, and 3 gears. I would score 4 points for both the compasses and tablets, 9 for the gears and then since I have 2 sets of all 3 symbols I would gain an additional 14 (7+7) points! This would total into (4+4+9)+(7+7) = 31 points!
Treasury Contents Every 3 Coins at the end of the game = +1 Victory Point
Wonder Score Victory Points on your built stages on your Wonder 1 Stage: 3 Victory Points 2 Stages: +5 Victory Points (8 total) 3 Stages: +7 Victory Points (15 total)
Commercial Structures Some Yellow cards have Victory Points on them.
Guilds Score Victory Points on your Purple cards BOTS!!! When designing your bot you will need to list an order of priority that you wish your bot to follow when choosing cards/actions, you may be as specific or as vague as you like (ie you may create a fully ordered list of every card in the game, or you could just state the colours you wish to prioritise) You will need to program the following things into your bot: -A priority order for cards for each age (including when to discard for wonders/money) -A priority order for cards to discard for each age -If given an option as to which neighbour to buy cards from, a way of selecting which neighbour to buy from Things your bot will know: -Which player is controlling which bot -Which players are sat next to you (and thus the order in which hands are passed round) -The cards each bot has played previously -The current point totals per player -Remember what cards are in piles which it’s already seen and where those piles currently are If at any point there are multiple cards that meet the criteria for which card to select then a random card from those cards will be picked You must also pick a starting raw material that your wonder will produce for free. (Lumber, Stone, Bricks, Ore) To build your wonder it will cost you the following resources and will give you the following rewards: Stage 1: 2x your chosen starting resource: 3 Victory Points Stage 2: 3x the player to your rights starting resource: +5 Victory Points (8 total) Stage 3: 4x your chosen starting resource: +7 Victory Points (15 total) Example Bot: (You cannot use this example bot as your bot, please only use it as a guide on how to build a bot) The Builder: Starting resource: Stone Age 1: -Brown cards with 2 Symbols -Brown cards (priority to symbols I don't have, priority to symbols neighbours don't have, priority to symbols needed for my wonder) -Red cards I can get for free (ignore this rule if either of the following is true 1. either of my neighbours have 2 more red symbols then me, I have 2 or more red symbols than both of my neighbours) -East/West Trading post -Grey cards with symbols I don't have -Yellow cards I can get for free -Blue cards I can get for free -Wonder I can get for free -Any card for free -Discard for 3 coins
Cards to discard/use for wonder: -Green cards (priority to the cheapest ones) -Random cards I can't afford
Age 2: -Canversary -Brown Cards with symbols I don’t have 2 of in total[including from yellow cards] (Priority to those I don’t have any symbols of, then ones I only have 1 of, then ones needed for my wonder, then ones my neighbours don’t have) -Grey symbols I don’t already have -Red cards I can get for free (ignore this rule if either of the following is true 1. either of my neighbours have 2 more red symbols then me, I have 2 or more red symbols than both of my neighbours) -Green Cards able to get for free -Blue Cards I can get for free (priority to higher points) -Wonders I can get for free -Any Card I can get for free -Red cards I can afford (ignore this rule if either of the following is true 1. either of my neighbours have 2 more red symbols then me, I have 2 or more red symbols than both of my neighbours) -Green Cards I can afford -Blue Cards I can afford (priority to higher points) -Wonders I can afford -Discard for 3 coins
Cards to discard/use for wonder: -Random cards I can't afford
Age 3: -Include Wonder Stages as Cards for this stage -Ignore any cards I can’t afford -Prioritise cards in order of how many points each card will give me
Card used for discard/Wonder: -The card that'd be worth the most points (and affordable) to the player who currently has the most points
Who to buy from (apply this rule for all ages): -Using trading posts for cheaper buying -The player who has least coins -The player with the least points -The player with the least production cards
Here is a full list of the 7 wonders cards available for this gameThe player with the highest score will keep all their lives, all other players will lose 1 life In the event of a tie we'll look at the bot who produced the most points in 1 colour, if this is still a tie then most points in 2 colours Bots must be submitted by the below deadline, however we will not announce final results until 24 hours after this deadline, we will however be providing a hand by hand summery during the 24 hours, but we're gonna be slow with it to create suspense. [countdown:Deadline=May 3 2020 6:00 PM -4]Time's Up![/countdown] Timezones:EDT | 6:00:PM, Sun 3 May | PDT | 3:00:PM, Sun 3 May | BST | 11:00:PM, Sun 3 May | ACST | 7:30:AM, Mon 4 May | AEST | 8:00:AM, Mon 4 May |

Been asked a few questions about this challenge so thought I'd put my responses here, I understand the wording is a bit confusing in places.
So for starters this challenge has been adapted from the actual board game 7 wonders, however some things have been simplified for the sake of using bots.
Main difference is rather than you picking a wonder from premade wonders, you are building your own wonder based on the starting resource you choose, this is your wonder for the whole game. This starting resource is the exact same as if you had built a card producing that resource (see below for more on how that works)
In answer to questions about 7 wonders in general: -If you have 1 card producing stone on your board, you can produce this stone every round. So if in the next round you have a card that costs 1 stone, you can play that card for free. If in the round after that you have another card that costs 1 stone you can also play that card for free. Once it's been built, you always have that stone to use in all future rounds. -Once you build a card you don't have to keep paying for it, it's only a 1 time cost. -You may build your wonder at any time, if you can you may build all 3 stages of your wonder straight away
Bot stuff: -The sample bot is there to show you all the different types of things that you can do within programming your bot and how specific/vague you want to be -You could be as specific as listing an exact card within this order of priority, such as the card 'Canversary' -You could just simply say, give me any red card -You could distinguish between if a card is free (so if you already have all of the resources to build it) or if it's affordable (whilst you don't have all the resources, you can buy some from a neighbour) -You can program the bot based on the knowledge it has of other players and the board, the bot will know if it plays a certain card, how many points it'll gain by playing that card and likewise it'll be able to work out how many points a certain card is worth to other players

Also for those of you who are new to RC, keep in mind that the deadlines here are 2 hours earlier than main game deadlines! Do not use the deadline clock for keeping track of time, use the deadline clock attached to this challenge. You have just over 24 hours until deadline

This challenge has turned out to be one of the most gruelling challenges I've seen on LSGs which is very fitting as you're all fighting it out to survive the Resurrection Chamber. If you lose here don't be disappointed, everyone worked really hard on their bots and I'm very impressed!
